• Department of Painting

Painting is one of the first fields that was established since the establishment of, Soore International University and for many years it has been able to become one of the most important educational centers of painting by attracting and training interested students. The educational planning policy of this department is to use the combination of veteran professors and young professors in order to provide students with an amalgamation of experience and innovation. The painting department of, Soore International University has the honor of collaborating with some of the most prominent Iranian artists, both in the past and present.

• Department of Visual Communications (Graphics)

The graphic faculty has been operating since 1993 by using technical and artistic facilities and equipment according to the needs of the society in the field of transferring concepts and visual communication.

The faculty’s courses are at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and on average every semester, in addition to permanent faculty members, it also benefits from the experiences of about 70 visiting professors.

Among the main facilities of this faculty mention must be made of workshops equipped with computers, video projections, printing workshops, volume making workshops and photography laboratory, where students, along with prominent and experienced professors, participate in many cultural and artistic activities. Such activities include holding festivals, exhibitions, and educational workshops in the areas of graphics, printing, packaging, posters, environmental graphics, motion graphics, web design, etc. Participants have already achieved significant success over the years and attracted to educational centers and the job market. The training of various and updated graphics soft-wares such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, etc. have been included in the curriculum of this faculty.

• Department of Illustration

The Illustration Department of Soore University has been admitting students in the master’s degree since 2014. In this field, students are taught various manual and digital illustration techniques, along with the history of illustration and image analysis, children’s book illustration, illustration for teenage audiences, illustration for adult audiences, old and new illustration, comic strip design.

• Department of Handicrafts and Islamic Art

The field of handicrafts and Islamic Art is an inseparable part of the history and tradition of Iran and Iranian nationals, based on its structural features, connection with local culture, adherence to national identity, and substantive compatibility with the religious foundations of Islam. It is one of the first active and successful departments of, Soore International University, which started its activity as one of the educational departments since the beginning of, Soore International University in 1993. This department is currently admitting students for the Doctorate’s degree in Comparative and Analytical History of Islamic Art, Master’s degree in Handicrafts and Islamic art, and Bachelor’s degree in Calligraphy and Miniature painting.

The following are the most important features of the department:

* Special attention to moral concepts and basic principles in art education;

* Emphasis on preserving the identity and authenticity of native and traditional arts in interaction

   with the concerns of the contemporary world;

* Emphasis on entrepreneur training with the aim of responding to the need for employment and

   national production;

* Synchronizing theoretical topics and strengthening technical and practical skills in training

   creative, committed and capable forces.

• Department of Cinema

This department started its activity in 1993 at the post-diploma level and in 1995, started admitting students at the B.A level as well. This process continued until 2013, when the permission to admit students in the Master’s level was also obtained.

In this era, Soore University has set its goal, in addition to the organizational mission, on educating efficient students. The ones that have been able to work in the job market have been effective in the practical process of producing movies, and in this way, with the presence of prominent university professors and cinema artists, they have achieved significant success. The cinema audience’s reception for the works of cinematographers who graduated from Soore University, along with their mentions in various domestic and foreign festivals, confirms the claim that many of them are currently the most important people in Iran’s professional cinema.

Currently, the department of cinema is active at both undergraduate and graduate levels. One of the long-term goals of Cinema department is to design and launch new courses and plan to join third-generation universities or entrepreneurial universities.

• Department of Theatre

Soore University’s Theater Department has admitted students since 1993 and by training expert students, it has delivered the largest number of professional theater artists to the country’s theater community from the path of university education.

The theater department currently admits students in five B.A degrees (Directing, Acting, Dramatic Literature, Puppetry, and Stage Design) and one M.A degree (Dramatic Literature). In addition to permanent faculty members, visiting professors from prestigious universities and art colleges of the country also teach in the Theater Department, and sometimes they are professional theater artists themselves.

The first “Theatre Festival of Theater Students of Soore” was formed in October 2013, and even now, Soore Theater Festival is one of the most important student theater festivals in the country, after the Academician Theater Festival of the Ministry of Science.

Launching the first virtual Theater Festival of the Country’s Students in 2019 is one of the other actions of this department.

In order to do the above programs as well as possible, the theater faculty has two theaters plateaus, a decor workshop, a puppet making workshop, three training plateaus and a specialized stage design workshop.

• Department of Dramatic Literature

Since a long time ago, the course of “Performance” was founded in the “Soore University” at the “Bachelor’s” level and trained talented and skilled graduates to enter the performing arts of Iran, one of the trends of this course was “Performance Literature”. Since 2006, “Soore University” hosted students who wanted to study at the “Master’s” level in the course of “Dramatic Literature” and so far, a large number of graduates from this course have been attracted to the professional job market.

“Playwriting”, “Screen writing”, “Familiarity with the Principles and Models and Theoretical Foundations of Drama”, “Narratology in Theater and Cinema”, “Adaptation” and “Methods of Dramatizing Stories Based on Dramatic and Mythological Patterns” including branches and specializations and arenas of practical, artistic and research are defined and explained in the subcategory of “Dramatic Literature”.

• Department of Animation

In the early 2000s, Soore University provided the platform for the launch of this course by holding free animation training courses and officially succeeded in admitting students for the Master’s degree from the first semester of the academic year 2010-2011.

Until now, this faculty, while educating and training many students and successfully admitting graduates in the Doctorate’s program, has been able to take the first steps by being selected in the special section in the “9th Tehran International Animation Festival”, “Chashmandaz” and by shining in the film market of the same festival. By participating in international forums such as “Ankara Cartoon Festival 2014” and dozens of international festivals and events, this university has won more than one hundred national and international awards in prestigious cartoon and animation festivals and decorated the showcase of the alumni of the Soore family at international competitions. “Soore Animation Center”, which was founded by the students of this course since 1994, has organized dozens of major events in the form of workshops and training courses, lectures, roundtables and student competitions until today.

For the first time, this department launched the “Soore Animation Student Festival” under the name “Baang-e Bidari-e Bahar” and held two rounds of this festival from 1994 to 1996. Further along the way, by changing its name to “Baang-e Pouyaei”, it has taken the first step in establishing a nationwide festival and becoming a national festival, the first of which was held in November 1997.

 “Soore Animation Studio” has the following modern equipment:

• Light pen, Syntech, dozens of powerful systems, Render farm, portable animation light stand, experimental animation filming specialized stand.
